The Tao gives birth to all things.
Its power nourishes them.
Each takes shape according to its nature,
each completes its path in its own way.
Everything honours the Tao,
not by command,
but because it is life’s quiet source.
The Tao brings forth,
nurtures, grows, supports,
guides, protects, and lets go.
It creates without claiming.
It acts without boasting.
It raises without ruling.
This is the deep mystery:
to do everything,
and yet not hold on.
