Wholeness Through Yielding
Through humility and non-assertion, the sage becomes whole. By letting go of desire and ego, one is renewed and fulfilled — reflecting the paradoxical truth at the heart of the Tao.

What is broken becomes whole.
What is bent becomes straight.
What is empty becomes full.
What is worn becomes new.
Those who have little desire
are fulfilled.
Those with many desires
are lost.
So the sage embraces humility
and shows it to the world.
Because he does not show himself,
he shines.
Because he does not assert himself,
he stands out.
Because he does not boast,
he is respected.
Because he does not compete,
no one can compete with him.
The ancient saying,
“What is partial becomes complete,”
is not just words —
it holds the truth of the Way.
